Made-to-measure & printing

Custom acoustic panel, printed in your colours.

A custom printed acoustic panel turns your logo, a photo or any artwork into a high-definition absorbent surface. It cuts a room's reverberation (NRC 0.85), stays fire-certified for public buildings (EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0), and carries your identity instead of hiding it. Any shape, any size, with an artwork proof approved before a single cut. This is the heart of what ACOUSTELIO does: treat noise without ever compromising the look of a space.

A custom printed acoustic panel: what is it?

It is an absorbent PET felt panel with your artwork printed onto it in full colour. So you get two things in one object: real acoustic treatment, because it absorbs the waves that bounce around and brings the echo down, and a decorative element in your image.

Where a stretched decorative canvas barely treats sound at all, our panel combines the two with no compromise: the print sits on the surface of the felt without blocking its porous structure. Performance stays intact, and the wall becomes a signature.

In practice, a single line of spend solves two problems. You do not pay for decor on one side and acoustic treatment on the other, with two suppliers and two site visits. The panel does the work of both, on the same surface, in the same place.

Why print

Why choose a printed acoustic wall panel?

Because it settles a real conflict: treating noise without degrading the look of a space. In a restaurant, a hotel lobby or an open-plan office, acoustics often come as an afterthought, with grey panels that people try to hide behind a plant or tuck into a corner. Printing flips the logic: the panel becomes an aesthetic statement, something you put on show rather than hide. Hung on its own above a banquette or run as a mural across a whole wall, it plays the part of acoustic wall art: a piece, unique or composed, that absorbs noise.

  • Your brand, on display: logo, palette, product photos, a mural drawn for the space.
  • Measured sound comfort: less reverberation, better speech intelligibility, less listening fatigue by the end of the day.
  • Public-building compliance: B-s1,d0 fire rating, required in spaces open to the public.
  • No loss of performance: printing does not clog the felt, absorption stays at NRC 0.85.

What you gain

The strengths of made-to-measure printing.

Four reasons a panel in your image beats a neutral tile, on substance as much as on style.

An identity, not a cover-up

Your logo, your palette or a mural on show at scale. Acoustic treatment becomes a deliberate piece of decor, not a necessary evil.

Performance preserved

The ink stays on the surface, the felt still breathes. You keep NRC 0.85 and the fire rating, unlike a decorative canvas that absorbs nothing.

Genuinely free shapes

Circle, hexagon, cloud, cut-out lettering, a shape drawn to measure. Digital cutting holds clean edges, even on a complex outline.

Approved before production

The proof locks the rendering. You see your panel, you adjust, you approve. Nothing goes into manufacturing without your written sign-off.

The process

High-definition printing on felt, step by step.

Printing is done digitally, straight onto the PET felt, in full colour. The principle fits in one sentence: the ink lands on the surface fibres without filling the pores that trap sound. It is that porosity that gives the panel its absorbing power, and we preserve it entirely. A conventional decorative canvas, by contrast, sits on a closed backing that reflects the waves: pretty, but tone-deaf.

Felt absorbs light differently from glossy paper. Tones come out a little more matte and deep, with a textile grain that gives them character. The finish is matte, with no glare: where a stretched canvas shines under spotlights, felt stays legible from every angle and under any lighting. Our designers anticipate this behaviour: they adjust the colour profile up front so that what you approve is what you receive. A flat brand colour, a gradient, a detailed photo all handle it very well, with a crisp, legible result even from a few metres away.

On the file side, the ideal is a vector or a high-resolution image at 300 dpi at final print size. No artwork to hand? We open up our image library: landscapes, textures, graphic patterns. Enough to compose acoustic mood wall art without tying up a designer.

Next comes the proof, the artwork sign-off. This is the step that separates a good surprise from a bad one. We send you a faithful preview within 24 to 48 hours: artwork set in place, dimensions, framing, logo position, cut line. You correct whatever you want, as many times as it takes, then approve in writing. Only from that point does manufacturing start. It is our way of guaranteeing that the panel on the wall matches the project in your head.

The proof rule. No cutting, no printing starts until you have approved the artwork proof in writing. Colour, framing and scale tweaks are included right up to your green light. You pay for an approved rendering, never a surprise.

Shapes & formats

Free shapes and sizes: rectangles, hexagons, circles, clouds, lettering.

Everything starts from your project, not a fixed catalogue. On shapes: rectangle and square for a clean, modular look, hexagon for a honeycomb pattern you can run across a whole wall, circle and cloud to soften a space, wave to follow an architectural line, cut-out lettering to display a word or a name, or a fully free shape drawn from your logo. Digital cutting holds complex outlines with no ragged edges.

On sizes: made-to-measure, from a small module to large format, within the limits of manufacturing and transport. To dress a whole wall, we work by layout: several panels composed together, butted for a continuous mural or spaced for a graphic rhythm. You can also start from standard modules, for example 60 x 60 cm or 120 x 60 cm, if you are after a quick, easy-to-install result. Either way, the layout plan is approved on the proof before manufacturing.

This freedom serves two goals at once. Organic shapes and large formats maximise the absorbent surface, and therefore the effect on noise. And it is those same shapes that build the visual identity of the space. A wall of hexagons in the brand colours treats the acoustics and signs the space in the same gesture.

Made-to-measure printing fits every professional use. We start from your space and its noise problem.

Use cases

Four situations where a printed panel changes everything.

The head office. An entrance hall echoes, and it is the first impression a visitor or a candidate carries away. A large printed panel in the brand colours, set behind reception, breaks the reverberation and sets the tone from the threshold. Calm and image work together, on the same wall.

The video-conference room. A room that rings makes video calls painful for those dialling in, and the visual backdrop matters as much as the sound. A few printed panels at the reflection points make the voice clean on the mic side and offer a polished, branded background on the camera side. Two problems fixed at once.

The restaurant. The din drives customers away as much as it wears down the staff, but no one wants technical tiles on the ceiling of a carefully designed room. A printed mural on suspended baffles, or a signature wall, brings the sound level down while serving the decor. Guests stay longer and can hear each other speak.

The reception hall. Big volume, high ceiling, plenty of hard surfaces. It is the ideal ground for ceiling baffles, very effective in this kind of space, paired with a printed wall that sets the tone. The place gains in sound comfort and character at the same time, with no heavy building work.

To clarify

Acoustic treatment or soundproofing?

A common question, and an essential distinction. Soundproofing stops noise from passing from one space to another, the neighbours, the street, the room next door: it lives in the mass of walls and glazing, and involves building work. Acoustic treatment, our field, reduces reverberation inside a room. Nine spaces out of ten that complain about noise fall under the second, not the first.

Our printed panels do acoustic treatment: they absorb sound reflections and improve comfort and intelligibility. If your room rings and conversations overlap, this is exactly what you need. To understand the difference in detail, and to size a project, see how many panels to plan for.

Installation

Installation and fixing

The panels are light and delivered ready to install, fixings included. Two main methods: wall mounting, with the right adhesive or clips depending on the surface, and hanging by cables for ceilings and baffles. Most of our clients install themselves, in a morning; we provide the instructions and can point you to a fitter if needed.

Unsure about the surface, concrete, plasterboard or glass? Mention it at the quote stage: we recommend the right fixing for a lasting hold. On a large layout, we mark the alignment axes so the modules sit straight, with no guesswork during assembly.

Frequently asked questions

Made-to-measure printing, made clear.

What files should I supply for printing?
Ideally a vector file (PDF, AI, SVG) or a high-resolution image, at 300 dpi at final size. We also accept Photoshop files and professional photos. If all you have is a low-resolution logo, tell us: we can often rebuild it or point you to the right source. Before production, our designers calibrate your file for printing on felt, which absorbs colours slightly, so the result matches your brand guidelines as closely as possible. You approve that rendering on an artwork proof before anything goes into manufacturing.
How does the artwork proof (BAT) work?
The proof is a faithful preview of your panel before manufacturing: artwork, dimensions, framing, logo position, cut shape. You receive it within 24 to 48 hours of your order. Nothing goes into production until you have signed it off in writing, and you request as many adjustments as you need, on colours, cropping or scale. It is our zero-nasty-surprise guarantee on the final result. What you see on the proof matches the panel you receive, not a retouched catalogue image.
Will the printed colours be accurate?
Yes, give or take a nuance inherent to printing on felt. The textile absorbs light differently from glossy paper, so tones look a little more matte and deep. Our designers adjust the colour profile to get close, and the proof shows you the real rendering before we go ahead. To match a brand palette strictly, with Pantone references, flag it at the brief stage: we calibrate the print to those values. A flat brand colour handles felt very well, so does a photo, and the result stays crisp and legible.
What shapes and sizes are possible?
Rectangles, squares, hexagons, circles, clouds, waves, cut-out lettering, or a free shape drawn for you. Sizes are made-to-measure, within the technical limits of manufacturing and transport, up to large format. We cover a whole wall by laying out several modules, butted together or spaced apart, or we create a single piece. Give us your surface and your intent: we draw a layout and price it. Digital cutting holds clean edges, even on complex shapes like a clipped logo.
Does printing reduce acoustic performance?
No. Printing is done on the surface of the PET felt without clogging its porous structure. The panel keeps its absorption coefficient (NRC 0.85) and its EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0 fire rating. You gain the visual without losing anything technical: that is the whole point of a printed panel versus a decorative, non-absorbent canvas, which dresses a wall without treating the sound. The felt keeps trapping waves in the human-voice band, exactly where comfort is won in a space that welcomes the public or teams.
Acoustic treatment or soundproofing, what is the difference?
Soundproofing stops noise from passing from one space to another, the neighbours, the street, the room next door: it lives in the mass of walls, floors and glazing, and involves building work. Acoustic treatment, our field, reduces reverberation inside the same room with absorbent materials. Nine spaces out of ten that complain about noise have a reverberation problem, not a leak between rooms. Our printed panels do treatment: they kill the echo and make speech intelligible. The topic is covered in detail in our article on treatment versus soundproofing.
How are the printed panels installed?
The panels are light and delivered ready to install, fixings included. Two main methods: wall mounting, with the right adhesive or clips depending on the surface, and hanging by cables for ceilings and baffles. Most of our clients install themselves in a morning; we provide the instructions and can point you to a fitter if needed. Unsure about the surface, concrete, plasterboard or glass? Mention it at the quote stage, we recommend the right fixing for a lasting hold. On a large layout, we mark the axes to align the modules without guesswork.
What are the lead times and where do you deliver?
Allow 48 hours for the quote, then roughly 10 to 15 working days after proof approval, manufacturing and delivery included. We deliver across the European Union and the United Kingdom on a DDP basis: import duties and taxes included, no surprise charges on arrival. A tracking number is sent at dispatch, and support is provided in your language. For a multi-site rollout or a dated project, we align deliveries with your schedule. You keep control of the calendar rather than being stuck with a fixed lead time.

A standard acoustic tile absorbs noise and disappears. A custom printed panel absorbs noise and shows who you are, on the same surface.
