3D acoustic panels: the sculpted wall.

The 3D Panels collection sculpts our acoustic wall panels into volumes: deep waves, petals, pyramids, dunes. Twelve modules to compose on a layout plan, absorbing like felt (NRC 0.85) and diffusing sound like a sculpted surface. Fire-certified for public buildings.

The collection

When the wall becomes a useful sculpture.

The 3D panel pushes relief to its maximum: several centimetres of volume moulded into the felt, bold shadows, a wall that changes character with the angle and the lighting. Fitted side by side, the modules compose a continuous sculpted surface: a swell of waves, a field of petals, a slope of dunes. It is the signature element par excellence, the one that defines a place from the moment you walk in.

Acoustically, the collection combines two actions. Absorption first: the porous felt is the same as our wall panels, measured at NRC 0.80 and 0.85 depending on thickness. Diffusion next: the volumes scatter the residual sound in every direction instead of reflecting it like a mirror. Between two parallel walls, that is what eliminates the flutter echo a flat treatment sometimes leaves behind.

This absorption-diffusion pairing is the one studios and music rooms look for. In a reception, a restaurant or an open-plan office, it simply gives a more natural sound: the room is calm without being dull.

The twelve modules

Organic, geometric, textured.

References 3D-01 to 3D-12 fall into three families. The organics: deep waves, dunes, petals and foliage in volume, with continuous curves that compose wall-sized landscapes. This is the family of receptions and hospitality spaces, spectacular without being aggressive. The geometrics: pyramids, domed bubbles, recessed cubes, with a clean, regular rhythm, perfect for a contemporary brand wall or a tech space. Finally the textured: crumpled folds and raised labyrinths, more abstract, working the material like draped fabric.

Every module is made in the 36 shades of the colour chart, and the layout makes the style: a single module repeated in monochrome for rigour, a two-tone chequerboard for graphic impact, a three-shade gradient for movement. Plain modules can also be inserted into the composition to give the relief room to breathe and keep the budget in check.

For a softer relief, see the embossed acoustic panels; for a linear rhythm, the fluted acoustic panels. The three collections share the colour chart and combine on the same project.

Where to fit it

The walls that have to leave a mark.

You choose 3D for the effect: one well-placed span is enough to define an entire place.

Reception & lobby

The signature wall: the swell of waves or the field of petals people remember the place by, and a lobby that finally stops ringing.

Creative room

An environment that stimulates without the hubbub: the relief feeds the eye, the felt absorbs the ideas flying around.

Music room & auditorium

Absorption plus diffusion: the pairing that avoids both echo and a lifeless sound, for natural listening.

Retail & showroom

A 3D wall in your brand colours becomes window decor and a photo backdrop for your customers.

The install

A layout plan, some modules, half a day.

A 3D wall goes up module by module, like large-format tiling. On a flat, sound surface, bonding with mounting adhesive is enough: each module is light, lines up against a chalk line and presses into place in seconds. On an irregular surface, or for the deepest modules, screw fixing secures the whole, the screw heads disappearing into the recesses of the relief.

Everything comes down to the layout plan, supplied with the order: fitting sequence, orientation of each module (many references change character when rotated a quarter turn), distribution of the colours. A careful in-house team fits a signature wall in half a day; for a major span at height, we can point you to an installer.

Full span or framed feature surrounded by plain felt, the result is approved before manufacturing: composition, shades and layout plan on a proof, as with all our made-to-measure work.

Composing well

Getting a 3D wall right: lighting first.

A 3D wall lives on its light. The same field of petals looks flat under a diffuse ceiling light and becomes spectacular under raking light: spots angled from the ceiling, an LED strip at the top or bottom of the span, side light from a window. If you are preparing a project, think about the lighting at the same time as the layout: it decides the perceived depth. We build it into our advice from the quote onwards.

Second lever, the orientation of the modules. Most references change character when rotated a quarter turn: horizontal waves stretch the wall, vertical ones lift it; aligned pyramids bring rigour, staggered ones bring movement. The supplied layout plan fixes the orientation of every module, so the install delivers exactly the result approved on the mock-up.

Last piece of advice, the framing: a 3D feature of four to six square metres, framed with plain felt in the same shade, concentrates the effect and the budget right where the eye lands. The full floor-to-ceiling span remains the signature option for lobbies; the framed feature is the highly effective one for meeting rooms and retail spaces.

Composition, orientation, lighting: everything is approved on a render before manufacturing. You see your finished wall before you order.

What the order includes

Approved render, numbered modules, complete file.

A 3D wall is not ordered from a catalogue: every project goes through a composition render (modules, orientations, colours, recommended lighting) that you approve before manufacturing. Samples from the colour chart can round out the decision, to judge the shade in real conditions.

On delivery, the modules arrive numbered according to the layout plan, with the fitting direction of each one, the fixing recommendations and the technical file: EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0 fire classification report and laboratory-measured absorption data sheet. The install follows the plan like a documented puzzle, with no improvising.

Frequently asked questions

3D panels: your questions.

What is a 3D acoustic panel?
It is a wall module in PET felt sculpted in volume: deep waves, petals, pyramids, dunes, bubbles. Fitted side by side, the modules compose a relief wall that plays with the light like a sculpture. The felt remains the absorbent material of our wall panels: NRC 0.80 to 0.85, with an added diffusion effect created by the volumes. Twelve references make up the collection, ref. 3D-01 to 3D-12.
Does a 3D panel absorb better than a flat one?
It absorbs just as much and diffuses more. Absorption comes from the porosity of the felt, identical to our flat panels (NRC 0.80 to 0.85 measured). The volumes add a second action: they break up the waves by scattering them in every direction, which prevents sharp echoes between parallel walls. This mix of absorption plus diffusion is sought after in music rooms and spaces where sound quality matters.
Which modules make up the 3D collection?
Twelve references, 3D-01 to 3D-12, in three families: the organics (deep waves, dunes, petals, foliage in volume), the geometrics (pyramids, domed bubbles, recessed cubes) and the textured (crumpled folds, raised labyrinths). Every module comes in the 36 shades of the colour chart and combines with the others on a single layout plan.
How are 3D modules installed?
Module by module, bonded onto a flat surface or screwed depending on weight and substrate. That is the strength of the format: you compose the layout like a chequerboard, playing with the orientation of the modules and the colours (two-tone chequerboard, gradient, continuous wave). A layout plan comes with every order, and the install remains within reach of a careful in-house team.
Are 3D panels suitable for public buildings?
Yes. The modules are moulded in the same felt certified EN 13501-1 B-s1,d0 as the rest of the range: low contribution to fire, very little smoke, no flaming droplets. The classification report comes with every order, ready for the safety inspection.
How large an area should a 3D wall cover?
A 3D wall works as a full span or as a framed feature. As a full span, floor to ceiling, it becomes the signature element of the place: reception, head of a room, stage wall. As a feature of a few square metres framed with plain felt, it creates a focal point on a contained budget. Either way, we cost it from your dimensions, free of charge and within 48 h.

A successful acoustic treatment goes unheard. This one, on top of that, sculpts itself, casts shadows and becomes the decor: twelve modules to turn a wall into a centrepiece.

The absorption of felt, the diffusion of volume: the best of both worlds.
