Decorative acoustic panels.

Decorative acoustic panels prove that sound treatment does not have to look like a technical tile. Engraved, embossed, sculpted in 3D, waved or printed in your image: acoustic wall panels with a design finish treat the room's echo and dress the wall at the same time. Measured performance NRC 0.85, fire-certified for public buildings.

The principle

Acoustic treatment that is meant to be seen.

For a long time, treating a room's acoustics meant hanging grey tiles and hoping nobody would notice them. The decorative acoustic panel turns the problem around: since part of the walls has to be covered to bring the echo down, that surface might as well become the decor. An engraved pattern running the full height, a raised texture that catches the light, a mural printed in your image: the acoustic treatment is visible, and deliberately so.

Technically, nothing changes compared with a plain absorber. PET felt remains a porous material: sound waves penetrate it and their energy dissipates instead of bouncing off the wall. Engraving and embossing work the surface without touching the absorbent mass; the reliefs even break direct reflections by diffusing part of the sound. The result, measured in the laboratory: NRC 0.80 at 9 mm, NRC 0.85 at 12 mm, exactly like our plain panels.

In other words, you choose the decorative panel for the style, and you keep the performance. The detail of the measurements is on the absorption coefficient data sheet, and the technical base of the product on the wall panels page.

Five families

From engraved pattern to printed mural.

The engraved patterns are the most architectural family: vertical lines, chevrons, arches, bricks or weaves carved into the surface of the felt, in large 1200 × 2800 mm formats fitted in strips from floor to ceiling. From a distance, the wall looks textured like stretched fabric; up close, the engraving gives a depth no flat panel will ever have.

The embossed textures play on soft relief: scales, waves, quilting, nine references that catch raking light. The 3D acoustic panels go further with twelve surface sculptures (petals, pyramids, dunes) that turn an entire wall into a decor in volume. The waved slats deliver a very warm corduroy velvet look, close to the wood-slat spirit but with the felt's absorption over the full surface.

Finally, high-definition printing remains our signature: your mural, photo, pattern or logo printed directly on the felt, approved on a proof before production. The five families share the same 36-shade colour chart and combine freely on the same project. All the detail is on the made-to-measure and printing side.

Where it makes the difference

The walls people look at, finally useful.

The decorative panel earns its place wherever the wall is visible and the noise is a nuisance.

Reception & lobby

First impressions are made at the entrance. A signature wall, engraved or printed, sets the tone and calms the echo of busy spaces at the same time.

Restaurant & hotel

The dining room has to be beautiful and comfortable on the ear. Embossed reliefs and warm shades dress the large wall spans without a canteen feel.

Glazed meeting room

Glass sends everything back. A back wall in waved slats or 3D modules absorbs the voice and doubles as a polished camera backdrop on video calls.

Retail & showroom

The wall becomes a brand medium: printed mural, discreet logo, exclusive pattern. The acoustics follow, without adding one more technical element.

Wood or felt

Wood slats or decorative felt?

Searching for decorative acoustic panels often leads to wood slat products. Here is the honest comparison.

Natural wood grain

The wood slat remains a handsome product for a natural grain look. But if the primary goal is to bring the noise down, felt absorbs far more, weighs less, passes public-building requirements without debate and takes a print. Our waved slats offer the rhythmic spirit of wood slats with the performance of felt.

Design & composition

Compose a wall, don't stack tiles.

A beautiful acoustic wall is composed like high-end wallpaper: you choose a dominant tone, align the pattern with the lines of the room, take care of the joins. The large 2800 mm engraved formats avoid unsightly horizontal joints; the patterns match from one strip to the next to run across the full width of the wall. On a short wall, a scatter of spaced cut shapes (hexagons, discs, arches) lets the surface breathe.

Colour does half the work. The 36-shade chart runs from mineral neutrals (chalk, greige, concrete) to bold tones (terracotta, teal, olive, mustard). In a tonal scheme, two or three close shades give depth without agitating the room; in contrast, a dark engraved pattern on a light background becomes the centrepiece of the decor. For a brand wall, printing reproduces your exact colours, approved on a proof.

Relief can be dosed too: discreet embossing for soft light, 3D modules for a spectacular effect, an offset mounting of a few millimetres for a cast shadow. We propose a composition from your plan and photos, with a render before manufacturing. Nothing goes into production without your approval.

The install

Light, so simple to fit.

Decorative felt weighs around 2 kg/m², two to four times less than an equivalent slat panel. On a flat, clean surface (painted plasterboard, smooth concrete), fitting is done by bonding with mounting adhesive: fast, invisible, reversible with care. The 2800 mm engraved strips are fitted like flexible panelling, starting from a perfectly plumb vertical edge.

On an irregular wall, or to accentuate the relief, screw fixing with spacers offsets the panel by 20 to 40 mm. The air gap created behind extends absorption towards lower frequencies, a real plus in a meeting room. The 3D modules are fitted piece by piece, which allows chequerboard layouts or colour gradients.

Every order ships with its layout plan and fitting recommendations suited to the surface. An in-house team fits a standard wall in half a day; for large jobs, we can point you to an installer. The full guide is in the article how to mount an acoustic panel.

Maintenance & lifespan

Decorative, and easy to look after.

PET felt does not yellow, does not crumble and does not hold odours. A pass with a soft-brush vacuum removes dust from the reliefs; a stain is treated with a damp cloth and neutral soap. The engravings and embossings are worked into the material itself: they do not flake or peel off, unlike a veneer or a decorative film.

The prints use UV-resistant inks for interiors: the colours hold for years, even in a bright room. The material and its recycled share are detailed on the PET felt data sheet, and the fire rating on the EN 13501 data sheet.

Frequently asked questions

Decorative panels: your questions.

What is a decorative acoustic panel?
It is an absorbent panel designed to be seen: instead of hiding a technical tile behind a piece of furniture, you turn it into a piece of wall decor in its own right. Engraved pattern, raised texture, 3D module, waved slats or a print in your image: the panel treats the room's reverberation while dressing the wall. Ours are made of PET felt, a matt, textured material that absorbs up to 85 % of incident noise (NRC 0.85).
Does a decorative panel absorb as much as a plain one?
Yes. Performance comes from the porous material and the thickness, not the look. An engraved or embossed panel keeps the same 9 or 12 mm felt base as a plain panel: measured absorption stays at NRC 0.80 to 0.85 depending on thickness. The reliefs can even diffuse sound slightly by breaking direct reflections. You sacrifice no performance for style.
Which decorative finishes do you offer?
Five families: engraved patterns (lines, chevrons, arches, weaves, in 1200 × 2800 mm), embossed textures (9 references, from scales to waves), sculpted 3D modules (12 references), waved slats with a corduroy fabric look, and high-definition printing of your visual. Everything comes in 36 felt shades and can be combined on the same wall.
Decorative acoustic panels in wood or in felt?
Wood slat panels are mostly decorative: their absorption depends on the felt placed behind the slats, and solid wood stays reflective. The all-felt panel absorbs over its entire surface (NRC 0.85 versus 0.4 to 0.6 for most slat panels), weighs half as much, cuts to any shape and takes a print. For a warm look, the waved slats or the warm shades of the colour chart deliver the wood feel without the acoustic compromise.
Can you print a visual on the panel?
Yes, it is our speciality. Mural, photo, pattern, gradient or logo: the visual is printed in high definition directly on the felt, with no plastic film that would degrade absorption. You approve a proof (BAT) before production. It is the most decorative option: the wall becomes a complete graphic medium.
Are decorative panels suitable for public buildings?
Yes. All our decorative finishes share the same felt, certified EN 13501-1, classification B-s1,d0: low contribution to fire, very little smoke, no flaming droplets. It is the level expected in public-access buildings. The classification report comes with every order.
How are decorative panels installed?
Like standard wall panels: bonding with mounting adhesive on a flat surface, or screws with spacers for an offset mounting that accentuates the relief. The felt is light (around 2 kg/m²), so the install takes a few hours with no major building work. The large 2800 mm engraved formats are fitted in strips, from floor to ceiling.
What budget should you allow?
The price depends on the finish (a plain panel costs less than a 3D module or a print), the surface and the cuts. The quote is free, costed within 48 h, and delivered DDP: duties and taxes included, no surprise on arrival. Send your dimensions or a few photos of the room to receive a costed layout.

The surface you have to cover to calm a room can stay technical and dull, or become the most beautiful wall in the place. That is exactly the role of the decorative panel.
